Prohibits developers and deployers of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI systems from using professional healthcare terms, letters, or phrases (such as "doctor" or "licensed therapist") in advertising or functionality that falsely imply the technology holds a healthcare license or certificate

Bans AI/GenAI technology from using terminology that suggests care, advice, reports, or assessments are being provided by a licensed human healthcare professional when they are not

Grants healthcare professional licensing boards jurisdiction to enforce violations, including authority to pursue injunctions and restraining orders under Business and Professions Code Section 125.5

Each use of a prohibited term, letter, or phrase constitutes a separate violation, expanding the scope of existing crimes related to unauthorized use of healthcare professional designations

Approved by the Governor on October 11, 2025, and applies to any health care profession licensed or regulated under Division 2 of the Business and Professions Code
