Elections officials must finish counting all ballots and release vote counts within 13 days following an election

Exceptions to the 13-day deadline include provisional ballots, ballots requiring signature verification, duplicate ballots, conditional voter registration ballots, forwarded vote-by-mail ballots, and ballots received more than 4 days after the election

Elections officials who cannot meet the 13-day deadline must file a notice of extension with the Secretary of State explaining the reason, and both parties must post this notice on their websites

The bill does not change existing requirements for counties to complete their official vote canvasses within 30-31 days

State reimbursement to local agencies for costs mandated by this bill shall be made if the Commission on State Mandates determines such costs exist
