Clarifies that electronic service of a notice of motion does not require additional notice time, unlike service by facsimile, express mail, or overnight delivery which adds 2 court days to the notice period

Removes the existing 2 court day extension that previously applied to electronic service for any period of notice or deadline after service of documents

Applies to motions for summary judgment (requiring 81 days notice) and other civil motions (requiring 16 court days notice before hearing)

Amends Code of Civil Procedure Sections 437c, 1005, and 1010.6 to make conforming changes establishing that electronic service is treated the same as personal service for timing purposes

Makes no appropriation and has no fiscal impact on state or local programs
