Authorizes nurse practitioners to complete and attest to the medical and health section data and time of death on death certificates, effective July 1, 2026

Requires nurse practitioners to notify the coroner when they have knowledge of a death occurring under specified circumstances (without medical attendance, suspected suicide, following injury/accident, or suspected criminal act), with failure to notify constituting a misdemeanor

Allows nurse practitioners to prepare, sign, and deposit or deliver certificates of fetal death within 15 hours after delivery, starting July 1, 2026

Permits nurse practitioners to file declarations under penalty of perjury to amend records of death, fetal death, or live birth with supplemental medical information

Expands existing criminal penalties to nurse practitioners who fail to comply with coroner notification requirements, creating a state-mandated local program
