Requires the State Fire Marshal, in consultation with the Division of Occupational Safety and Health, to establish a working group on personal protective equipment for lithium-ion battery fire response

Working group membership must include State Board of Fire Services members, academia, health and safety experts, a Division of Occupational Safety and Health representative, and a utility workforce labor organization representative

Working group must review and make recommendations on PPE to limit lithium and heavy metal exposure, cleaning technology for contaminated equipment, whether different PPE is needed for various battery fire types (large-scale storage, home storage, electric vehicles), and decontamination practices at fire scenes

Recommendations must be submitted to the Legislature by September 1, 2026

Provisions expire and are repealed on January 1, 2031
