Recognizes Chávez's founding of the United Farm Workers of America in 1962 and his leadership of the 1965 California grape strike, including a 340-mile march from Delano to Sacramento

Credits Chávez's efforts with the enactment of California's Agricultural Labor Relations Act of 1975, the only law in the nation to protect farmworkers' right to organize

Notes Chávez received the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously in 1994 and that California established March 31 as a state holiday through Senate Bill 984 in 2000

Directs the Chief Clerk to transmit copies of the resolution to the Chávez family, United Farm Workers of America, and the César Chávez Foundation
