Repeals the requirement that an unrelated adult male living with a family receiving CalWORKs benefits must make a mandatory financial contribution to the household

Current law requires unrelated adult males to contribute at least the amount it would cost them to live independently, with income and expenses verified under penalty of perjury

Expands CalWORKs eligibility by removing this contribution requirement, which currently can result in aid being discontinued if parties fail to cooperate

Exemption for bona fide lodgers, roomers, or boarders under current law would become moot with the repeal

No continuous General Fund appropriation will be made to implement this change; any state-mandated local costs would be reimbursed through standard procedures
