Adds misdemeanor convictions for altering, removing, or obliterating firearm identification marks (maker name, model, serial number) to the list of offenses that trigger a 10-year firearm prohibition

Applies to convictions occurring on or after January 1, 2027, prohibiting affected individuals from owning, purchasing, receiving, or possessing any firearm for 10 years

Violations are punishable as either a misdemeanor or felony, with penalties including up to one year in county jail or state prison and/or a fine up to $1,000

Amends Penal Code Section 29805, which already lists numerous misdemeanor offenses (assault, domestic violence, stalking, threats, etc.) that result in temporary firearm prohibitions

Creates a state-mandated local program by expanding the scope of an existing crime, though no state reimbursement to local agencies is required
