Requires the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Office of Emergency Services, and Department of Toxic Substances Control to form a workgroup on exposure to toxic heavy metals after wildfires, contingent upon legislative appropriation

Workgroup must establish best practices for wildfire-impacted communities, first responders, and cleanup personnel to avoid heavy metal exposure, including outreach efforts

Workgroup will study methods to prevent, mitigate, and remediate heavy metal accumulation in the environment after wildfires, including bioremediation through vegetation, fungal, or bacterial treatments

Authorizes contracting with public universities, research institutions, and technical experts to support the workgroup's efforts

Findings must be reported to the Legislature no more than 3 years after the workgroup's first meeting
