CA SB308

Requires the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges to submit reports on corrective actions taken by or against community college districts experiencing fiscal difficulties to the Joint Legislative Audit Committee, in addition to existing recipients (legislative committee chairs, Director of Finance, and Governor)

Expands reporting requirements for annual community college audit reports to include the educational policy and fiscal committees of both houses of the Legislature, the Director of Finance, and the Governor, in addition to the Joint Legislative Audit Committee

Beginning in the 2027-28 fiscal year, consolidates the fiscal corrective action report and the annual audit exception report into a single combined submission

Removes previously proposed language that would have allowed the chancellors' offices of the California Community Colleges and California State University to discontinue reports they deemed "obsolete, unnecessary, or outdated"
