Allows school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools to count coursework completed in apprenticeship or preapprenticeship programs toward the high school graduation requirement for one course in visual/performing arts, foreign language, or career technical education

Apprenticeship or preapprenticeship programs must be approved by California's Division of Apprenticeship Standards or registered with the U.S. Department of Labor to qualify

Program coursework must align with California's model curriculum standards for career technical education

Coursework must be supervised by qualified industry instructors approved by the Division of Apprenticeship Standards or certified by North America's Building Trades Unions

Amended version removes original provisions that would have created credential waivers for career technical education teachers with industry certifications
