Raises the threshold for counties with populations of 9 million or more to perform alteration or repair work on county-owned buildings without going through the formal public contract bidding process from $50,000 to $125,000

Maintains the existing $50,000 exemption threshold for counties with populations between 2 million and 9 million

The higher $125,000 threshold does not apply if the amount specified in Section 22032(a) of the Public Contract Code equals or exceeds $125,000

Applies specifically to Los Angeles County, the only California county with a population exceeding 9 million residents

Approved by the Governor and filed with the Secretary of State on July 14, 2025
