Extends health benefit coverage for minor dependents of firefighters and peace officers killed in the line of duty from age 21 to age 26

Applies to dependents of local employees who are firefighters, peace officers, or Sheriff's Special Officers of Orange County who die from work-related accidents or injuries caused by external violence or physical force

Minor dependents receive benefits under the surviving spouse's coverage, or if there is no surviving spouse, until reaching age 26

Retroactively applies to dependents of firefighters and peace officers killed in the line of duty prior to September 30, 1996
