Prime or direct contractors are responsible for completing home improvement projects in accordance with the contract, plans, and specifications for purposes of administrative discipline by the Contractors State License Board

Subcontractors and home improvement salespersons remain subject to administrative discipline for violations of contractor licensing law, regardless of prime contractor responsibility

Home improvement contracts must include a checkbox disclosure indicating whether subcontractors will be used on the project (Yes/No)

If subcontractors will be used, contracts must include a disclaimer stating the contractor will provide a list of subcontractors with names, contact information, license numbers, and classifications upon request

The same subcontractor disclaimer must appear on any change orders issued during the project
