Law enforcement agencies must require official reports generated fully or partially using artificial intelligence to include a disclosure statement on each page identifying the AI programs used and stating "This report was written either fully or in part using artificial intelligence"

Officers must sign AI-generated reports (physically or electronically) verifying they reviewed the contents and that the facts are true and correct

Agencies must retain the first AI-created draft for as long as the official report is retained, and maintain an audit trail identifying who used AI and what video/audio footage was used

Contracted AI vendors are prohibited from sharing, selling, or using law enforcement data except for the agency's purposes or pursuant to a court order, though they may access data for troubleshooting, bias mitigation, accuracy improvement, or system refinement

The law applies specifically to AI systems that draft police report narratives from dash cameras, body-worn cameras, or officer dictation enhanced by generative AI
