Requires the State Fire Marshal to designate "post-wildfire safety areas" for any wildfire occurring on or after January 1, 2025, that burned 1,000+ acres, destroyed more than 10 structures, or caused a fatality, with maps transmitted to local agencies within 90 days of containment or by May 1, 2026

Expands criteria for fire hazard severity zones to include areas burned in major wildfires, areas at risk for urban conflagration where structures can serve as fuel sources extending ember cast, and areas where agricultural land affects fire hazard

Mandates that state fire protection standards (including WUI building codes, defensible space requirements, and fire-safe road standards) apply to post-wildfire safety areas within 30 days of the State Fire Marshal's map transmission

Requires local agencies to post public notices identifying post-wildfire safety areas at county recorder, assessor, and planning offices within 10 business days of receiving maps, and to update general plan safety elements to address fire risk in these areas

Requires the State Fire Marshal to publish the model and methodology used to develop fire hazard severity zone designations on its website at least 60 days before finalizing those designations
