Encourages the UC President, CSU Chancellor, and California Community Colleges Chancellor to create a joint workgroup of faculty, staff, and administrators to review artificial intelligence use in higher education

Workgroup would develop strategies and best practices for acceptable AI use while emphasizing academic honesty, ethical standards, and mitigating plagiarism in academic assignments

Workgroup would address professional support for professors in using AI, recognizing AI in student work, identifying reliable detection technologies, and appropriately informing students of suspected improper AI use

Encourages collaboration with statewide associated student bodies, out-of-state higher education professionals, and AI experts, with student participation in discussions about responding to AI usage violations

Workgroup would produce and publicly release a report on agreed-upon AI strategies and best practices across California's three public higher education segments
