Extends the right to use deadly physical force against intruders to include owners, managers, and employees of places of business, in addition to dwelling occupants.

Permits use of deadly force when an unlawful entry occurs and the person reasonably believes the intruder committed or intends to commit a crime in addition to the entry, and might use physical force against any occupant.

Grants immunity from criminal prosecution and civil liability to dwelling occupants, owners, managers, or employees who use physical force, including deadly force, in accordance with these provisions.

Amends statute 18-1-705 to clarify that deadly force in defense of premises may be used under the circumstances described in section 18-1-704.5.

Takes effect 90 days after final adjournment of the general assembly (August 11, 2010), unless subject to a referendum petition requiring voter approval in November 2010.
