HB 10-1411 Summary

• Transferees denied firearm transfers have 30 days to request a review of the denial based on criminal background check records.

• The bureau must perform a thorough review of instant criminal background check records within 30 days of receiving a transferee's request and render a final administrative decision.

• When a case in a transferee's criminal record has no final disposition and is no longer pending, the inability to obtain that disposition cannot be the sole basis for denying the firearm transfer.

• The bill takes effect upon the Governor's signature but only if House Bill 10-1391 is enacted and becomes law in the same legislative session.
