SB10-119 Summary

• The Executive Committee of the Legislative Council may establish guidelines regarding reimbursements and substantiation requirements for actual and necessary travel expenses incurred by General Assembly members.

• Changes the definition of the Denver metropolitan area from a fixed list of counties (Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Clear Creek, Douglas, Gilpin, Jefferson, Broomfield, and Denver) to one designated in guidelines established by the Legislative Council Executive Committee.

• Extends the repeal date of the $150 per legislative day expense allowance for non-Denver area members from October 1, 2010 to October 1, 2012.

• Extends the effective date of the 85 percent federal per diem rate allowance for non-Denver area members from July 1, 2010 to July 1, 2012.

• Declared an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
