Senate Bill 10-169 Summary

• Authorizes moneys from the Hospital Provider Fee Cash Fund generated through enhanced federal matching under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to offset Medicaid general fund expenditures for fiscal years 2009-10 and 2010-11.

• First $41.4 million in enhanced federal matching funds shall be transferred to the Health Care Expansion Fund, with any excess amounts appropriated directly for Medicaid programs.

• Reduces general fund appropriation for medical services premiums by $46,329,388 for fiscal year 2010-11, with corresponding increase from the Hospital Provider Fee Cash Fund.

• Provision expires December 31, 2011, and is declared necessary for immediate preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
