HB 12-1052 Summary

• Director of the Division of Registrations must implement a health care work force data collection system by July 1, 2013 for health care professionals eligible for the Colorado Health Service Corps, practical and professional nurses, and licensed pharmacists.

• Health care professionals must submit data during initial licensure and upon license renewal, including practice addresses, hours of direct patient care, specialties, practice setting types, education and training, and year of birth.

• A Primary Care Office advisory group will recommend data structure and provide analysis; the advisory group is repealed effective September 1, 2022.

• Director may seek and accept gifts, grants, or donations to fund implementation, with all moneys transmitted to the state treasurer and credited to the Division of Registrations Cash Fund; public data requests must exclude names and identifying information.

• Appropriates $36,745 to the Department of Regulatory Agencies and $35,520 to the Governor's Office of Information Technology for fiscal year 2012-2013; act takes effect July 1, 2012.
