CO HB1109

Requires the general assembly to reduce total state general fund appropriations to the legislative branch, judicial branch, and each executive department (excluding health care policy and financing and education) by an amount equal to fiscal year 2011-12 appropriations multiplied by the unemployment rate as of March 1, 2012

Excludes the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing and the Department of Education from the required budget cuts

Directs the state treasurer to transfer the total amount of all general fund appropriation reductions to the state education fund on January 1, 2013

Applies only to fiscal year 2012-13 and repeals effective July 1, 2013

Includes a safety clause declaring the act necessary for immediate preservation of public peace, health, and safety
