Legislative council staff must designate a 10-day period during which the first 50 Colorado businesses may submit comments on business fiscal impact when a legislative measure proposes new or increased mandates on businesses or is expected to significantly increase business costs

The 10-day comment period must commence no sooner than the second day after introduction and no later than the fourth day after introduction of the legislative measure

Legislative council staff shall compile any comments received from Colorado businesses and make copies available in conjunction with the fiscal note

Unions may provide statements as addendums to comments submitted by Colorado businesses that are under collective-bargaining agreements

Act takes effect August 8, 2012, or upon voter approval if a referendum petition is filed
