Creates new offenses against pregnant women and unborn children including unlawful termination of pregnancy in the first through fourth degrees, vehicular unlawful termination of pregnancy, and aggravated vehicular unlawful termination of pregnancy.

Excludes from prosecution medical care provided with the mother's consent.

Increases penalty for criminal abortion in which the woman does not die from a class 4 felony to a class 3 felony.

Allows homicide and assault charges to be brought contemporaneously with underlying charges when any crime results in death or injury to an unborn member of the species homo sapiens.

Takes effect July 1, 2012, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
