Extends the deadline for notifying the Colorado Department of Revenue about lost or destroyed gasoline or special fuel from seven days to thirty days after the loss or destruction occurs.

Changes the filing deadline for submitting proof of loss to the same thirty-day deadline, eliminating the previous separate thirty-day filing period.

Applies only to losses of one hundred gallons or more of gasoline or special fuel lost or destroyed by fire, lightning, flood, windstorm, explosion, accident, or other uncontrollable causes.

Takes effect September 1, 2012, subject to referendum petition procedures under Colorado's constitution.

Applies retroactively to gasoline or special fuel lost or destroyed on or after the effective date of the act.
