HB 12-1180: Supplemental Appropriation to the Department of Agriculture

• Amends the fiscal year 2011-2012 budget for the Colorado Department of Agriculture by modifying Part I of SB 11-209.

• Appropriates a total of $38,841,718 to the Department of Agriculture, with $5,237,048 from the General Fund and $28,559,268 from cash funds.

• Funds six major divisions: Commissioner's Office ($10,584,512), Agricultural Services Division ($10,669,602), Agricultural Markets Division ($3,850,692), Brand Board ($4,194,827), Colorado State Fair ($8,413,492), and Conservation Board ($1,128,593).

• Includes funding for animal industry, plant industry, inspection and consumer services, agricultural products inspection, brand inspection, and conservation services across multiple cash funds and revenue sources.

• Declares the appropriation necessary for immediate preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
