CO SB025

Creates an exception to Colorado's concealed weapon laws allowing law-abiding persons age 21 and older to carry a concealed handgun without a permit if they legally possess it under state and federal law.

Applies the exception only to handguns, not other weapons.

Grants individuals carrying concealed handguns under this exception the same rights and subjects them to the same limitations as those holding a concealed carry permit under section 18-12-214.

Extends the no-permit exception to school, college, and university grounds for handguns legally possessed under state and federal law.

Takes effect upon passage and applies to offenses committed on or after the effective date.
