Licensed health care facilities and their agents are prohibited from retaliating against employees who perform or omit actions that, in the employee's best medical judgment using best available practices, serve the patient's best interest.

Licensed health care facilities and their agents are prohibited from retaliating against employees who follow a patient's directive.

"Retaliate" is defined as demotion, reassignment of duties, discharge from employment, or loss of pay or benefits.

Applies to all licensed health care facilities as listed in Colorado Revised Statutes Section 25-3-101(1).
