• Allows county boards of commissioners to publish legal notices and advertisements on a county-maintained website instead of in newspapers of general circulation.

• Permits counties to publish monthly expenditure reports and semiannual financial statements on a county website as an alternative to newspaper publication.

• Maintains existing requirements for counties without legal newspapers to publish in adjacent county newspapers or post statements in three conspicuous locations, unless publishing online.

• Takes effect August 7, 2013, subject to referendum petition; applies to notices, advertisements, reports, and statements published on or after January 1, 2014.
