CO HB1085

Limits the "possession of weapons by previous offenders" crime to specific felony convictions instead of all felonies: offenses under the victim's rights act, burglary, arson, or any felony involving use of force or deadly weapons.

Applies the narrowed felony restriction to both adult convictions and juvenile adjudications under section 18-12-108.

Retains the existing prohibition on weapon possession for individuals convicted of misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence as defined in federal law.

Amends statutes 18-12-108(1), (3), and (6)(c)(I) to implement the new felony classification limitations.

Takes effect July 1, 2013, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
