Amends Colorado Revised Statutes 42-4-508 to modify gross weight limits for vehicles on highways to conform to federal standards for continued federal highway funding.

Replaces specific weight limits for interstate highways with formula W = 500 [(LN/N-1) + 12N + 36], where W is overall gross weight on consecutive axles, L is distance between axles in feet, and N is number of axles, with a maximum of 80,000 pounds.

Maintains existing weight limits for non-interstate highways: 36,000 pounds for two-axle vehicles and 54,000 pounds for three-or-more-axle vehicles.

Preserves exception for specialized trailers used to haul poles, which may carry less than ten percent of the overall gross weight of vehicle combinations.

Declares the act necessary for immediate preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
