HB 13-1193: Advanced Industries Export Acceleration Program

• Creates the Advanced Industries Export Acceleration Program within the Colorado International Trade Office to help businesses in seven designated industries (advanced manufacturing, aerospace, bioscience, electronics, energy and natural resources, infrastructure engineering, and information technology) expand into international markets.

• Establishes an international export development expense reimbursement program providing up to $15,000 per qualifying business for half of eligible export-related costs, including trade missions, trade shows, legal fees, marketing materials, certifications, and translation services.

• Provides export training through conferences, seminars, and workshops on trade fundamentals and develops a global network of trade consultants in key international markets to assist Colorado businesses with market research, partnerships, and competitive strategy.

• Creates the Advanced Industries Export Acceleration Cash Fund receiving $300,000 annually from the general fund from January 1, 2014, through January 1, 2018, plus training fees and reimbursement payments from participating businesses.

• Requires annual reporting to legislative committees on program activities through November 1, 2018, and automatically repeals the program on January 1, 2019.
