CO HB1202

Adds counseling by primary care providers and specialty providers caring for persons with serious, chronic, or terminal illness regarding medical orders for scope of treatment as an optional Medicaid service in Colorado with federal financial participation.

Makes such counseling reimbursable under Colorado's medical assistance program, subject to obtaining necessary federal law and regulation approvals.

Requires that counseling services relating to medical orders for scope of treatment shall not take effect unless all necessary federal approvals to receive federal financial participation for such services have been obtained.

Takes effect August 7, 2013, or upon voter approval in November 2014 if a referendum petition is filed within 90 days after final adjournment of the general assembly.
