Amends Colorado Revised Statutes 24-10-103(5) to explicitly include the State's Judicial Department in the definition of "public entity" under the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act.

The change clarifies that the Judicial Department is subject to the same governmental immunity protections as other state agencies and political subdivisions.

The amendment applies retroactively to claims asserted against the judicial department on or after January 1, 2012.

Designated as a safety clause measure, with the General Assembly finding it necessary for immediate preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
