CO SB024

Prohibits employers from requiring employees to become or remain members of labor organizations or pay dues, fees, or assessments to labor organizations effective July 1, 2013.

Makes any agreements violating these prohibitions void and establishes all-union agreements as unfair labor practices.

Creates criminal penalties of up to $1,000 fine and/or 90 days in county jail for violations, and allows injured parties to sue for damages including attorney fees.

Authorizes the attorney general and district attorneys to investigate complaints and prosecute violations.

Exempts employers and employees covered by the federal Railway Labor Act, federal employers, federal enclaves, and situations where state law would conflict with federal law.
