• Courts must ensure youth in foster care ages 16-18 in county or state custody receive annual free credit reports from the Department of Human Services or county departments.

• County departments or the state must inform courts of any inaccuracies found in credit reports and refer cases to governmental or nonprofit entities for assistance in resolving identity theft issues.

• The child's guardian ad litem shall advise youth of consequences and options for addressing identity theft, including the right to report to law enforcement and seek prosecution.

• The state Department of Human Services must develop by July 31, 2012, a referral list of governmental and nonprofit entities authorized to assist youth with identity theft remediation and clear their credit records.

• $24,334 appropriated from general funds for fiscal year 2013: $19,650 to the division of child welfare and $4,684 to the division of youth corrections for credit report remediation.
