Senate Bill 13-092: Supplemental Appropriation to the Judicial Department

• Amends the 2012 fiscal year budget (HB 12-1335) to provide a supplemental appropriation of $505,453,189 total to the Colorado Judicial Department for the year beginning July 1, 2012

• Allocates funds across eight judicial divisions including: Supreme Court/Court of Appeals ($20.7M), Courts Administration ($25.4M), Trial Courts ($144.7M), Probation and Related Services ($114M), Office of the State Public Defender ($63.6M), Office of the Alternate Defense Counsel ($22.6M), Office of the Child's Representative ($19.1M), and Independent Ethics Commission ($225K)

• Funds are drawn from multiple sources including General Fund ($353.4M), various cash funds ($130.5M), reappropriated funds ($17.1M), and federal funds ($4.4M)

• Includes specific funding for victim assistance programs, problem-solving courts, language interpreters, courthouse security, and offender treatment services

• Designates that $265,100 of District Attorney mandated costs be used exclusively to reimburse costs associated with the People v. James Holmes and People v. Austin Reed Sigg cases
