SB 13-223 Summary

• Extends the sunset date for the State Noxious Weed Advisory Committee from July 1, 2013 to September 1, 2023

• Increases committee membership from 15 to 17 members, adding one nonvoting representative each from the Colorado Department of Transportation and Department of Natural Resources

• Adds management of noxious weeds on surface waters and public lands as a new recommendation area for the committee

• Maintains existing committee composition requirements including at least one landowner representative, two weed management professionals, one weed scientist, two local governing body representatives, four agricultural producers, and three resource specialists

• Requires committee representation to reflect different geographic areas of the state equally and members to solicit and communicate recommendations within their respective regions
