• Creates a state sales and use tax exemption for firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories on the first Friday and Saturday in August of 2014, 2015, and 2016.

• Exemption applies only to sales made by participating vendors; vendors may voluntarily participate but cannot selectively apply the exemption to some customers.

• Defines "firearm" as any handgun, revolver, pistol, rifle, shotgun, or other device capable of discharging bullets or explosives, and "firearm accessory" as parts, stocks, scopes, grips, magazines, cases, and holsters.

• Allows towns, cities, and counties to create identical sales tax exemptions for firearms during the same periods as the state exemption.
