HB 1146: Prohibition Against Greyhound Racing in Colorado

• The Racing Commission shall not accept or approve any applications or requests for race dates for live greyhound racing in Colorado.

• Removes all statutory references to greyhound racing requirements, including definitions for greyhound tracks, licensing standards, and race meet provisions that previously governed the industry.

• Allows simulcast greyhound races from out-of-state tracks to continue under existing agreements, with revenues from such wagers directed to greyhound welfare and adoption organizations if no live greyhound racing occurs in Colorado.

• Modifies conflicts of interest rules to eliminate restrictions on family members of racing officials holding interests in kennels or compounds, reflecting the end of greyhound racing in the state.
