HB 14-1169 Summary

• Repeals the volunteer firefighter advisory committee established under Colorado Revised Statutes section 31-30-1112(6), effective July 1, 2014.

• Removes the committee from the statutory sunset review list in section 2-3-1203(3)(aa)(III).

• Eliminates the requirement for the Department of Local Affairs to consult with the advisory committee when developing application procedures for municipalities and districts to receive state assistance moneys for volunteer firefighter pension funds.

• Removes the advisory committee consultation requirement before the Department of Local Affairs may impose application fees on municipalities or districts seeking state assistance moneys.

• Takes effect July 1, 2014, and was approved by Governor John W. Hickenlooper.
