For the 2015-16 school year, school district and institute accreditation ratings shall be based on the prior year's rating, accreditation contract compliance, student participation levels on statewide assessments, and valid data demonstrating progress in student performance and postsecondary readiness.

Public schools' school plan type recommendations for 2015-16 shall be based on the prior year's plan type, student participation on statewide assessments, and valid data showing progress in student performance and attainment of performance targets.

The State Board may direct local school boards or institutes to take actions regarding public schools during 2015-16 that are not listed in existing provisions but have comparable significance and effect.

This bill accommodates Colorado's transition to administering new statewide assessments by modifying accountability measures for the 2015-16 school year only.

The act takes effect August 6, 2014, unless subject to a referendum petition, in which case it requires voter approval at the November 2014 general election.
