HB 14-1239: Supplemental Appropriation to the Judicial Department

• Amends the Judicial Department appropriation for FY 2012-13 (beginning July 1, 2013) with adjustments to various programs and funding sources across courts, probation, and defense counsel offices.

• Modifies funding for several initiatives including $187,000 for a restorative justice pilot project and $107,801 for compensation of exonerated persons or their immediate family members.

• Adjusts allocations for district attorney adult pretrial diversion programs, general courts administration, and courthouse capital/infrastructure maintenance.

• Reallocates specific cash fund amounts between the Judicial Stabilization Cash Fund, Correctional Treatment Cash Fund, and various other specialized funding sources to support operations.

• Includes authorization for transfer of funds between line items within specific offices (State Public Defender, Alternate Defense Counsel, Office of the Child's Representative, and Independent Ethics Commission) up to specified percentages.
