Department of Revenue shall specially register vehicles and issue distinguished license plates to Colorado General Assembly members for passenger cars or trucks not exceeding 16,000 pounds empty weight.

License plates shall display the letter "H" for representatives or "S" for senators followed by the member's senatorial or representative district number as the registration number.

Eligibility for special registration and license plates extends for the term the member is elected to serve in office, with registration and plates expiring when the member leaves office for any reason.

The act takes effect August 6, 2014 (or upon voter approval if subject to referendum petition), and applies to vehicles registered or license plates issued on or after January 1, 2015.
