HB 14-1314 Summary

• Requires school districts with planning committees to allow at least one charter school representative on the committee and notify charter schools of meeting schedules

• School districts must invite charter schools to participate in discussions about ballot questions for additional local revenues by June 1 of the election year

• Allows charter schools to submit operating revenue plans to the school board for consideration in district mill levy elections or for inclusion in a separate ballot question

• School district and charter school must agree on revenue distribution process and share ballot question costs proportionally unless they agree to different arrangements

• Requires contracts specifying that ownership of items purchased with additional revenues reverts to the school district if the charter school's charter is revoked, not renewed, becomes insolvent, or ceases to operate
