Colorado Coroners Standards and Training Board (C.C.S.T. board) chairperson must be either a coroner or forensic pathologist, elected annually by board members.

Annual in-service training requirement for coroners increased from 16 hours to 20 hours per year, with flexibility for combinations of education, experience, and training as approved by the C.C.S.T. board.

Attorney General designated as legal advisor to the C.C.S.T. board, with a deputy or assistant attorney general attending each board meeting to provide legal counsel.

Each county coroner or designee must create a policy for deputy coroner training and make the policy available for public inspection.

Appropriation of $3,643 to the Department of Law for fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014, to provide legal services funded from the coroner training fund; bill effective July 1, 2014.
