Adds revised definition of "danger to self or others" in Section 27-65-102(4.5) to include substantial risk of physical harm manifested by evidence of recent threats, attempts at suicide, serious bodily harm, homicidal or violent behavior, or reasonable fear of violent behavior.

Revises definition of "gravely disabled" to include persons who lack judgment in managing resources or conduct of social relations such that health or safety is significantly endangered, or who cannot make informed decisions about essential needs without significant supervision and cannot function safely.

Removes the term "imminent" from references to "imminent danger" in Sections 27-65-105(1)(a)(I), (1)(b), and (3) to conform with the new definitions.

Clarifies that "gravely disabled" does not apply to persons whose decision-making capabilities are limited solely by developmental disability.

Takes effect January 1, 2015, except Sections 2, 5, and 6 which take effect July 1, 2014.
