SB14-121 Summary

• Authorizes the governor to determine the state and local government cost-sharing percentages for nonfederal disaster relief expenses under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, Federal Highway Administration requirements, or other federal law.

• Allows the governor to amend the cost-sharing percentages based on individual local governments' needs after the initial determination.

• Requires the governor to notify the Joint Budget Committee as soon as practicable regarding the source and amount of state funds allocated for nonfederal cost shares.

• Applies these provisions to both disaster emergency declarations under Colorado Revised Statutes 24-33.5-704 and major disaster declarations triggering community loans under Colorado Revised Statutes 24-33.5-1107.

• Contains a safety clause declaring the act necessary for immediate preservation of public peace, health, and safety.
