CO SB132

Removes the requirement that a service member be "deployed to a combat zone" to qualify family members for fallen soldier special license plates under Colorado law.

Allows current or past spouses, children, siblings, grandparents, or parents of persons who died in the line of duty while serving in the armed forces to obtain the fallen soldier license plate, regardless of deployment location.

Modifies the fallen service member special license plate description to indicate it honors family members of those who died in the line of duty in the armed forces, removing the combat zone deployment requirement.

Takes effect on August 6, 2014, or after the 90-day period following the legislative session, and applies to license plate applications submitted on or after January 1, 2015.

Subject to voter approval if a referendum petition is filed within the 90-day period after adjournment.
